Moving your Household Goods
The majority of your personal belongings can be moved to Australia without significant problems or delay.  However there are specific regulations unique to Australia that must be adhered to. All goods entering Australia will be subject to Customs and Quarantine clearance. If you are sending items that are of interest to Customs and Quarantine then this may effects the time taken to process your move.
Owner Packed Goods
If you are sending items which have been "owner packed" then they are likely to attract more stringent inspection by Customs and Quarantine on arrival in Australia. Providing a detailed carton by carton inventory assist Customs and Quarantine in inspecting your effects and may unnecessary avoid delays. It is advisable to have your goods packed by your moving company if you are looking at sending larger consignments to ensure the clearance  process can be conducted with a minimum of fuss. 
Motor Vehicles and Motor Bikes

Most vehicles that can be registered in other countries will also be acceptable to use here in Australia. Upon arrival your vehicle must be accepted for road worthiness, and registration fees are payable to the local authority at your destination. However it is important that you review the requirements for importing your vehicle, and that you have an import permit BEFORE you ship it. Moving Pets to Australia

When bringing pets to Australia, be aware that we have strict quarantine regulations. This is to ensure that our farming and livestock industries remains one of the safest and disease free in the world. As such your pet will be required to undergo quarantine procedures which may required an isolation period for your pet with the Australian Quarantine Service. Moving Alcohol into Australia
When bringing Alcohol of any kind into Australia you must declare the full inventory to the Australian Customs Service for duty assesment. This includes wine collections.
OSS can assist you in preparing your documentation to best aid the clearance process and even determine the likely duty/tax on your alcohol before you ship it. There is no duty free allowance for unaccompanied alcohol and tobacco. If these items are included in your shipment tax and duty will apply.
Transit Times - Estimated turnaround times, door to door
These will vary depending on which country you are coming from and the type of service utilised (eg own container, shared container). As a rough guide we have listed some of the more common locations that people travel from when coming to Australia.

England UK - Turnaround time = 8-12 Weeks
United States USA - Turnaround time = 8-12 Weeks
New Zealand NZ - Turnaround time = 3-8 Weeks
Dubai UAE - Turnaround time = 6-10 Weeks
Europe EU - Turnaround time = 8-12 Weeks
Prohibited Items

Certain items are restricted or prohibited from entry into Australia. What you regard as a common and everyday item might be of concern to Australian Customs and/or the Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS). The items of concern to AQIS are effects containing wood, food, seeds, water hyacinth products, feathers, banana leaf items, dried flowers and the like. The items of concern for Customs include weapons, antibiotics, daggers, knives, pornography, shells and illicit drugs. Some items are either restricted or prohibited. For those items that are restricted, Customs will inspect and seize the item pending the provision of an import permit. Artwork, Photography, Pornography
Photography, magazines even paintings that are readily available and acceptable in one country, may be regarded as pornographic and prohibited in another. In Australia customs will inspect and make an assessment prior to goods of this nature being allowed into the country.
Electrical Goods Compliance and Compatibility
Most Australian appliances are manufactured to operate on 220-240 Volt AC supply which differs in many other countries. Also some televisions, DVD players and CD players purchased in other countries may also have compatibility issues in Australia.
Moving Boats or Water Craft to Australia
Moving boats, jet skis, or any kind of water craft into Australia is possible provided Australian Customs criteria is met. Please ensure that any fuel or ballast tanks have been emptied prior to arrival.
