Most vehicles that can be registered in other countries will also be acceptable to use here in Australia. Upon arrival your vehicle must be accepted for road worthiness, and registration fees are payable to the local authority at your destination. However it is important that you review the requirements for importing your vehicle, and that you have an import permit BEFORE you ship it. When bringing pets to Australia, be aware that we have strict quarantine regulations. This is to ensure that our farming and livestock industries remains one of the safest and disease free in the world. As such your pet will be required to undergo quarantine procedures which may required an isolation period for your pet with the Australian Quarantine Service. Certain items are restricted or prohibited from entry into Australia. What you regard as a common and everyday item might be of concern to Australian Customs and/or the Australian Quarantine Inspection Services (AQIS). The items of concern to AQIS are effects containing wood, food, seeds, water hyacinth products, feathers, banana leaf items, dried flowers and the like. The items of concern for Customs include weapons, antibiotics, daggers, knives, pornography, shells and illicit drugs. Some items are either restricted or prohibited. For those items that are restricted, Customs will inspect and seize the item pending the provision of an import permit.
